The local public school board will be closing all secondary schools in the system on Wednesday if teachers go ahead with plans for a one-day strike.

The teachers’ union announced themove last week after a couple of days at the table with negotiators for the province that went nowhere.

The main issues according to the teachers remain class size, and mandatory E classes they believe will lead to job cuts. The Ford government maintains it’s all about money.

All LKSAA athletic events scheduled for the day will be postponed.

The schools will reopen for normal hours on December 5th.

The job action doesn’t affect any elementary schools.
