Chatham-Kent may be the latest municipality to look at giving some of their workforce four-day work weeks.

In a bid to create better work-life balance and possibly create savings for the municipality, Chatham-Kent councillor Mary Clare Latimer plans on bringing a motion to an upcoming council meeting to have administration prepare a report outlining the pros and cons of a four-day work week.

Many municipalities, including some in southwestern Ontario, have moved to the four-day work week.

A four day work week may include having workers work 35 hours a week in four days or 28 hours in a four day work week.
