Chatham-Kent council meetings could soon resume in-person inside council chambers.
Mayor Darrin Canniff says administration is preparing report to suggest logistics for meetings inside the Civic Centre.
“We’re working towards a plan to do that,” Canniff says. “Administration is putting together a report to talk about the logistics of it and we’re looking forward ot getting back together soon.”
Canniff says the pandemic has highlighted additional ways to integrate technology into these meetings.
“I would anticipate a lot of things will change post-COVID, so will council meetings, and there may be some virtual (components) built into it.”
Municipal council moved its meetings online back in March, but technical difficulties and connectivity issues have caused some hiccups along the way.
Council’s next scheduled meeting is September 14th, however whether that will be in-person or virtual remains to be seen.
