The Wallaceburg & District Council for The Arts has an awe-inspiring showcase set to hit the Jeanne Gordon Theatre stage in Wallaceburg this Saturday night.
The Council has been hard at work since re-inventing itself in 2012, bringing the local community some very high quality performances from the likes of former Wallaceburger and CCMA Hall of Famer Ralph Murphy, Canadian blues icon Rick Fines and more.
Saturday, March 23rd will direct even more local spotlight as two highly-renowned singer-songwriters with roots in Kent Bridge will capture emotions and amaze with angelic vocals – all courtesy of Ambre McLean and Jessica Allossery.
Ambre McLean, a Guelph native, has been highly acclaimed in the Tri-Cities and has laid claim to 2 ECHO Awards for Singer-Songwriter Of The Year.
“Her work is memorable and captivating,” says Jay Smith, WDCA board member and 99.1 CKXS Music Director. “Every time she’s in studio, we know we’re in for a treat.”
Ambre is also currently in the regional finals of an online CBC contest known as the Search Light. CBC has scanned Canada, looking for the best talent the country – and according to Smith, McLean is rightfully in the conversation.
“You don’t find talent like hers every day,” said Smith. “From the written word, to the vocals and story -telling that leave you wanting more, there’s no doubt in my mind this girl is one of the best unsigned talents in this country.”

Jessica Allossery has become a mainstay on CKXS radio airwaves the past couple of years and has gained recognition across Canada after her song “Change The World” was chosen to be included in a nation-wide TV commercial campaign.
Allossery’s story is one of a local role model, for youth of our community to hold in high regard. Not only does she participate in local anti-bullying movements and seminars, she also spends time devoted to the Make Children Better Now Foundation. Jessica donated the $10,000 cheque she received from her Telus experience directly to the local Chatham-Kent organization.
On top of it all, with more than 2 million YouTube views, she has also spent time traveling the world, learning the lay of the land and picking up more than one second language along the way, while playing her music and expressing her mantra along the way.
“She’s a one-of-a-kind,” explained Smith. “A humble kid with an old soul. A lot of it comes from her upbringing. But her voice… her music. That’s a gift. There’s no other way around it.”
Council For The Arts board members anticipate a night of music that will leave those in attendance more than impressed. Future acts at the Jeanne Gordon Theatre with the WDCA include the likes of Daddy Long Legs, Madison Violet, Valdy and more.
Tickets are available for the showcase at the Wallaceburg Museum and 99.1 CKXS. Tickets are only $20. The Council For The Arts is a local charitable organization with 30 years of history, recently brought back to life through a collective of former and new board members.
