A previous motion passed by council has been overturned.

A South Kent Councillor raised concerns about the speed limit on Eighth Line at Bloomfield Road earlier this year, and council passed a motion to lower it from 80 km/hr to 60 km/hr.

Municipal administration has since come back with data, involving a public consultation, which supports keeping the 80 km/hr speed limit.

While a report or public consultation wasn’t requested in the original motion, administration’s recommendation came back to council and passed.

Some councillors raised concerns that this action by administration wasn’t procedural.
