Chatham-Kent administration staff will bring forward a report about a draft COVID-19 vaccination policy for mayor and council, after passing a motion at last night’s online council meeting.

The report will come back to council on October 4 for approval. The report will also include an update on a vaccination policy for Chatham-Kent employees.

North Kent councillor Joe Faas, who brought in the motion, said the motion is about having council lead by example.

Council also approved having citizen volunteers appointed to municipal advisory committees and local boards, provide proof of full vaccination or medical exemption prior to the resumption of in-person meetings in order to take their seats at those meetings.
