Council Supports CTC Build

The Municipality is pledging $1.5-million to the new Children’s Treatment Centre building.

After unanimous support from Council, the funds will be spread out into installments over the next five years.

Butterfly Building Campaign Chair Mike Grail says getting the Municipality’s support is key to making the new facility a reality.

“Their leadership is going to allow us to be able to continue to work with the Ministry to obtain the required funding that we need for the new centre,” Grail says. “We can’t speak highly enough on how important this was, and how much we appreciate their decision to not defer us and make the decision tonight so we can continue our great talks with the Ministry and get this building built.”

Grail says the campaign hopes to reach their $6-million local fundraising goal by June, and have shovels in the ground by this time next year.
