Chatham-Kent council will be deciding on whether to give the green light to what could be one of Chatham-Kent’s tallest apartment buildings at tonight’s council planning meeting.

The planned 13-storey apartment building would be on Grand Avenue East in Chatham along the Thames River. A gas station and hardware store are currently under construction in the area.

Council will consider bylaw amendments for height, size and parking spaces.

Currently the maximum building height allowed is 33 metres. The developers of the 182 unit building want to build a 46 metre building.
