Wallaceburg and North Kent animal control services could soon be the mandate of the PAW Rescue.
The group is the recommended option to take over for Larry Benoit and Animal Control Services on Arnold St. in Wallaceburg.
Benoit has given notice that he wishes to terminate his contract at the end of November, four months ahead of the contract expiration.
PAW Rescue has handled animal control in Chatham and the Blenheim area for almost a year.
The Wallaceburg shelter would remain open, with the same hours of operation.
