Tax changes could be coming to owners of empty industrial and commercial units across Chatham-Kent.
On Monday night, Council will be asked to approve a phase out of the rebate program over the next two years.
Right now, owners of buildings with empty units can apply for a rebate ranging from 30-35%.
That programs costs about $600,000 a year and is borne by all taxpayers, including residential and farm.
London, Windsor, and the County of Lambton are also looking at phasing out the rebate program.
