Chatham-Kent council will once again be asked to consider the future of city hall.
Staff is again looking for the go ahead to renovate/relocate the Civic Centre, presenting five options to council.
They range from doing nothing, to spending up to $50-million to build a new Civic Centre to house municipal services currently located in the Civic Centre and the Grand Ave. CHS building.
In justifying the need for the work, staff cites ongoing maintenance, security, and accessibility issues inherent with a building nearly 45 years old that was never intended for its current usage.
Council will debate the report Monday.
