Retail cannabis is back on the agenda at Chatham-Kent council.
Following council’s endorsement at the last meeting, Councillor Doug Sulman presented a notice of motion requesting the provincial government restrict the marijuana sales within 500 metres of schools, recreation centres, community centres, parks and libraries.
Last month, council opted-in to allowing private retail cannabis stores in the municipality.
However, Sulman would like to see the province’s location restrictions increased.
That would effectively restrict the sales in any Chatham-Kent community.
The motion will be discussed on Monday.
