The results of two environmental surveys will be presented to council at tonight’s online council meeting.
There was a survey for Chatham-Kent employees, as well as a public engagement survey for the community held a couple of months ago, which had over 2,000 Chatham-Kent residents take part. Council members will be surveyed in the next few months to help identify priorities for Chatham-Kent’s climate change action plan.
In July of 2019, Chatham-Kent council declared a climate emergency in Chatham-Kent.
In an effort to help identify local actions for Chatham-Kent and the community to mitigate and adapt to climate change, the Chatham-Kent Climate Change Action Plan (CCAP) was created in November of 2019.
