Chatham-Kent council will vote on a recommendation of the Economic Recovery Task Force at Monday night’s virtual get together.
It calls for the establishment of a small business recovery grants program designed to give small businesses a hand to open their doors.
The quarter of a million dollar program is designed to help with the cost of reopening in today’s COVID-19 environment.
It would cover local businesses that are not part of a chain, or franchise, the principal owners must be residents of the municipality, and either be open again or intend to open again.
Applicants can receive up to $1000 dollars.
