A new $100 special permit fee introduced in the 2018 budget could see some tweaking at council on Monday night.
That fee covers any event that’s open to the public and that includes Remembrance Day events.
That’s not sitting well with a number of councillors, including West Kent’s Bryon Fluker who is introducing a motion to exempt veterans groups and service clubs.
The special permit fee is similar to what is in place in other cities, but is new to Chatham-Kent this year.
