The ongoing condo development on King Street in Chatham has two councillors asking questions.

Construction of the private project is taking up space on the municipally-owned sidewalk, affecting both sides of King Street West.

Councillor Michael Bondy says construction is having an impact on traffic and local businesses, while Doug Sulman wants to know whether Chatham-Kent is charging the developers a fee for using sidewalk space, as some other communities do.

Administration will now prepare a report on the fees and a possible timeline, to be presented at a future municipal council meeting.
