Another Chatham-Kent resident has lost their life to COVID-19.

The most recent death is included in this week’s update from CK Public Health, bringing the total number of lives lost to the virus to 82 since the pandemic began.

Between July 24th and the 30th, 78 more high risk cases of COVID were identified in the community, leaving the weekly average at 11 new cases a day.

Chatham-Kent’s positivity rate sits at 11.7%, compared to 14.2% across Ontario.

One new COVID outbreak has been declared with 17 linked cases at Fairfield Park long term care facility in Wallaceburg.

Public health staff are also keeping tabs on four other outbreaks – two at the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance, St Angela’s Meadow Retirement Lodge, and Meadow Park in Chatham.
