Just one day after an outbreak is declared over in the Complex Continuing Care Unit, another has begun at Chatham-Kent Health Alliance (CKHA).

As of August 5, 4 cases of health-care acquired COVID-19 were identified on CKHA Medicine B Unit, located at the Chatham Site.

CKHA’s Medicine B Unit has formally been declared by CK Public Health to be in outbreak.

The Medicine A Unit also remains in active outbreak that began on July 22 with 17 active cases.

CK Public Health will work closely with CKHA to manage the outbreak within the Medicine B Unit and will continue to work in consultation until the outbreak is declared over.

CKHA says that the hospital remains a safe place to receive care. If you are experiencing an emergent acute care need, please do not hesitate to dial 911 or visit your nearest Emergency Department.

Further updates will be provided as more information becomes available.
