As Ontario teeters on the brink of another lockdown, the number of COVID cases continue to rise.

Provincially, 2123 new cases have been reported along with 17 new deaths linked to the virus.

In the Windsor-Essex region, there are 127 new cases of COVID-19 today. The region has 83 confirmed COVID patients in hospital, including 13 in the ICU, and another 118 suspected cases being treated.

Lambton County is now dealing with 66 active cases after a significant jump over the weekend. Saturday, the public health unit in that region issued a call to limit non-essential social gatherings and stressing the need to stay home when you’re feeling sick.

Chatham-Kent’s active caseload sits at 41 as of the last update from public health Friday afternoon. We’ll get the latest numbers later this afternoon.
