Public Health officials in Windsor-Essex are reporting a spike in new COVID-19 cases, including an agricultural outbreak.

21 new cases have been reported in the region, 17 of which are from a Kingsville-area farming operation.

Meantime, Ontario is inching closer to the 1000 mark.

On the cusp of Thanksgiving weekend, the government has announced a whopping 939 new cases province-wide, breaking yesterday’s single-day record of 797.

The usual offenders remain at the top of the list: 336 new cases in Toronto, 150 in Peel and 126 in Ottawa.

A cabinet meeting is being held at Queen’s Park, with officials widely expected to announce new restrictions this afternoon. Provincial health officials will be holding a news update at 1 o’clock.
