COVID Claims a 10th Life in Chatham-Kent

Another local resident has died from COVID-19. Chatham-Kent Public Health says a woman in her 90s succumbed to the virus at the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance on Saturday.

Meantime Chatham-Kent’s active COVID caseload has risen back above 100. Public Health says 38 new confirmed cases were added over the weekend. Even with 25 recoveries, the total number of active cases now sits at 103.

The latest numbers come on the first day of Chatham-Kent being back in the red-control zone of COVID restrictions.

Around the region, Windsor-Essex has added 11 new cases today, while Lambton County has another 40 confirmed cases on its books.

Province-wide, the Ministry of Health is reporting 1699 new cases today, along with three more deaths linked to the virus.
