The United Way of Chatham-Kent is now accepting applications for the latest round of COVID-19 emergency support funding.
The money is available to registered charities, non-profits, and community groups that directly assist with human and social services needs as part of their pandemic response.
The idea is to make it easy for frontline human and social service organizations to rapidly respond to the effects of the pandemic as they work hard to serve of community’s most vulnerable residents.
Programs and services are eligible for funding if they support: seniors; youth; those experiencing homelessness, emergency food insecurity, mental health/problematic substance use; and intimate partner violence.
Applications will be accepted and approved on an ongoing basis. Applications received by noon each Thursday will be reviewed the following Friday.
United Way of Chatham-Kent CEO Steve Pratt says, “The generosity of the Co-Investors Table and our corporate and individual donors helps to ensure that all of Chatham-Kent’s human and social services continue to do the hard work necessary to meet many of our community’s basic needs, such as food, shelter, clothing, and safety.”
