Just one new case of COVID-19 being reported in Chatham-Kent today.

The update from Public Health includes five cases marked as resolved, lowering the total active caseload to 18.

Two outbreaks remain active, the medicine unit at CKHA and Fairfield Park, although neither has any new infections.

In fact, officials from Fairfield say there are only two active cases left, one resident and one staff member, at the term care facility. Since the outbreak was declared on January 10th, 100 staff, residents, and essential caregivers have been affected.

Around the region, Lambton County is reporting nine new positive tests and 13 recoveries, lowering the total active caseload to 94.

Three more deaths have been linked to COVID-19 in Windsor-Essex. The county’s health unit has also added 32 new cases.

Province-wide, the Ministry of Health is reporting 975 new cases and 12 more COVID-related deaths.
