COVID Outbreak at CKHA, CK’s Total Active Cases Up to 98

Another jump in Chatham-Kent’s COVID numbers coming off the long weekend, and an outbreak declared at the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance.

Public Health is reporting 47 new cases since the last update on Friday.

With 26 cases resolved, the number of active cases has risen to 98.

Two cases have been linked in the medicine unit at CKHA. It’s the first time there’s been a COVID outbreak at the hospital since May. Public Health is also keeping tabs on the congregate living outbreak, which is holding steady at 8 total cases since August 25th.

There are currently nine COVID patients in hospital, up from six on Friday.

Across Ontario, there are 564 new cases being reported today. The Ministry of Health says 295 people are being treated for COVID-19 in hospitals province-wide, plus another 192 in ICU.
