There have been a number of coyote sightings around Wallaceburg over the past few days.
One area resident reported seeing a small coyote crossing the road on Dufferin Avenue near the town limit, and a larger animal later in the afternoon behind the union hall on Elm.
The Ministry of Natural Resources advises to keep your distance as coyotes will likely avoid human contact.
However if you do come across an aggressive animal, don’t turn your back and run; stand tall, wave your hands, and make a lot of nose.
If you believe a wild animal poses an immediate threat or danger to public safety, call 911.
