Funeral details have been released for a young member of the Chatham-Kent hockey community who was tragically killed in a collision on Highway 401.
A funeral mass for Craig Spence, captain of the Blenheim Blades, will be held on Monday at St. Joseph’s Roman Catholic Church in Chatham, at 1 p.m. The funeral will also be live-streamed online.
A private, family-only interment for the 22-year-old will follow at Maple Leaf Cemetery.
A celebration of life will be announced at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, friends and family are asking those interested to donate to the Craig Spence Memorial Scholarship Fund, which will help support worthy individuals and associations in athletics and academics. More information on how to donate can be found by clicking here.
Spence was pronounced dead at the scene following a two-vehicle crash on Highway 401 in London on April 16. The cause of the collision remains under investigation.
