One person has been seriously injured in a crash that closed the eastbound lanes of Highway 401 near Ridgetown.
The Ontario Provincial Police said a tractor-trailer and a cargo van collided on the highway near Orford Road at around 2:30 a.m. on Monday. The crash caused the van to roll into the ditch.
The driver of the van was rushed to a local hospital with life-threatening injuries.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation, which police said is in its early stages.
The eastbound lanes of the 401 were closed for several hours before police reopened the highway around noon.
