Crash Leads To Impaired Driving Charges For Wheatley Man

A Wheatly man is facing impaired driving charges following a two-vehicle crash in Leamington.

The Ontario Provincial Police said the vehicles collided near the intersection of County Road 33 and Talbot Road East on Sunday shortly before 7 p.m.

After speaking to one of the drivers, officers believed he was under the influence and took him to police headquarters for further tests.

As a result, a 60-year-old Wheatley man is charged with impaired operation of a motor vehicle, driving with a blood alcohol level over 80 mg, and having a blood alcohol level over zero as a novice driver.

The accused was also issued a 90-day driver’s licence suspension and his vehicle will be impounded for seven days.
