A Chatham man and a Bothwell woman have been charged with careless driving following two collisions.

The Chatham-Kent Police Service said on Tuesday morning, a driver lost control of his vehicle on Grand Avenue East between Memory Lane and Taylor Avenue. The vehicle left the roadway, struck a hydro pole and a nearby building.

The driver was taken to hospital to be treated for unknown injuries. Damage caused by the crash is estimated at around $3,000.

A 56-year-old Chatham is now charged with careless driving.

Later the same day, officers responded to a two-vehicle crash on Countryview Line between Centre Side Road and Lindsay Road near Dresden.

No one was injured but damage is estimated at around $3,000.

An 18-year-old Bothwell woman has been charged with careless driving.
