Authorities are still on the hunt for a man accused of snatching a bag from the VIA Rail station in Chatham.

The incident took place around 9:30 on the evening of September 10th. According to Chatham-Kent Crime Stoppers, the accused rode up on a bike and grabbed bag sitting on the ground next to a woman waiting for the train, then took off heading east.

The victim’s mother, who was sitting in a car in the parking lot, gave chase, but lost sight of the accused near St Patrick and Baxter Streets.

The accused is described as a man wearing a reddish-orange hoodie, and black balaclava covering his face, and witnesses told authorities the suspect may have had a black handgun tucked into the waistband of his pants.
