A news story about an arrest in Chatham over the weekend piqued the interest of a local man.

Chatham-Kent Police released details of a 28-year-old arrested for being in possession of break-in instruments and a pair of weapons on Sunday evening.

Yesterday, a Chatham man called police believing the crossbow and pellet gun found on the accused had actually been stolen from his garage on McNaughton Avenue East.

The suspect was taken back into custody and charged with break and enter and possession of stolen property, and police say the recovered items will be returned to their rightful owner.
