Crossing Guard Program Extended

The municipality is taking concerns over the loss of crossing guards to heart, and has extended funding for positions until the end of November.

In the meantime, administration will be looking into the cost of installing lighted crossings to help children in 112 high traffic and school areas across Chatham-Kent.

The systems could cost as much as 500-thousand dollars. The budget for crossing guards in the municipality was set to run out at the end of June.
