Fresh cups of coffee are returning to downtown Chatham with the opening of Cup of Joe this morning.
Owner Joe Robertson says when he saw the former Coffee Culture was up for lease, he couldn’t say no. He says his shop will be similar, with a few differences.
“When you come in, I’ve done some cosmetic changes. As for what Coffee Culture did, you’ll still be able to get coffee, but my coffee is actually from Hawaii. I have a nice French dark, deep roast coffee, and I also have organic teas from an organic farm in Southern California”, says Robertson.
He also has a wide range of bistro sandwiches.
“I have urban style bistro sandwiches. I’m carrying gluten-free bread, I’m doing vegan sandwiches, like a falafel wrap on naan bread, and a vegetarian wrap on naan as well. I also have gluten-free tortilla shells and buns”, he says.
Cup of Joe opens today at the former Coffee Culture location on the corner of King Street and Fifth Street in Chatham.
