Two local men are facing charges after a theft caused significant damage to a Blenheim business.

The Chatham-Kent Police Service said officers were on patrol at around 11:30 a.m. on Monday when they were approached by a concerned citizen who had seen two masked men stripping wire from air conditioning units at a Talbot Street business.

Authorities attended that business and arrested two suspects.

As a result, a 43-year-old Blenheim man and a 43-year-old Chatham-Kent man have both been charged with theft under $5,000, possession of stolen property under $5,000, and mischief over $5,000. They were held in custody for a bail hearing.
