1 medium onion
2 sour apples
1 bay leaf
2 whole cloves
2 tsp salt
1 tbsp butter
1 tbsp vinegar
2 tbsp brown sugar
Chop cabbage, onion and apples. combine with bay leaf, cloves and salt and cook with as little water as possible until tender.
Drain, remove bayleaf and cloves. Add the butter, vinegar and sugar. Toss and simmer on low heat for 5 minutes, stirring constantly.
