Dangerous Driving On Highway 401

A Toronto man is facing a dangerous driving charge after being stopped on Highway 401 in Chatham-Kent.

The Ontario Provincial Police said officers received a traffic complaint about a commercial vehicle on the highway just before 10:30 p.m. on Thursday.

Police were able to locate and stop the vehicle. Following an investigation, the driver was arrested.

A 39-year-old Toronto man is now charged with impaired driving, driving with a blood alcohol level over the legal limit, dangerous operation, driving under suspension, and failing to meet permit limitations while driving. The man was also issued a 90-day driver’s licence suspension, and his vehicle will be impounded for seven days.

The accused will answer the charges in court next month.
