Chatham-Kent residents with canine companions are being reminded to make sure their pet tags are up to date.
PAWR animal control said all 2022 dog tags must be purchased before March 31 to avoid a $10 late fee.
By law, dog owners in Chatham-Kent are required to purchase municipal licences (tags) for their dogs each year. Those who fail to obtain tags for their dogs could be fined up to $240
The cost of a dog tag is $38 for non-spayed/neutered dogs and $28 for spayed/neutered dogs.
To purchase tags, dog owners can visit the animal shelter in Chatham or any municipal office. Tags can also be purchased over the phone by calling 311 or online by clicking here.
