police lightsProvincial Police are urging drivers to take more care behind the wheel.

Authorities say this past weekend was the deadliest Labour Day weekend on OPP-patrolled areas in 20 years.

Province wide, 12 people were killed on the road, one in the water, and one in an off-road collision.

Officers were also cracking down on distracted driving, with over 800 drivers charged across Ontario.

The total number of distracted driving charges laid province-wide this year has now reached over 88-hundred.
