Despite years of discussion surrounding bridge, road, and building divestment, it appears the municipality is ill-equipped to actually deal with the issue. 
Staff has been warning council there are too many of each in the municipality, causing a drain on tax dollars and spreading resources too thin.
In a report to council, administration is asking for the go-ahead to outsource the work required to determine which municipal assets could be shed.
Staff believes it would take 12 people one year to figure it all out, at a cost of $1.4-million in staff hours.
The request for a proposal from an outside consulting firm is being recommended to be pushed to the 2020 budget deliberations.
