Deliberations will begin this week to determine how much Chatham-Kent property owners will pay on their taxes over the next four years.
Chatham-Kent Council will begin deliberations on the 2024-2027 multi-year budget on Tuesday at 6 p.m. in Council Chambers.
Administration has submitted a draft budget with a proposed annual average tax increase of 7.82 per cent over the next four years. The proposed increase for 2024 would work out to 6.57 per cent.
Deliberations will take place on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday from 6 p.m. until 10 p.m. If more time is required, December 5 and December 6 have also been set aside for additional deliberations.
