The provincially appointed supervisor overseeing the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance is asking for patience.
Following a public letter from MP Bev Shipley, Rob Devitt says any changes or improvements to the Sydenham Campus take time.
“In terms of any sense that not a lot is happening, I think if people go back to that 60 day update, an awful lot has happened and a lot more is going to happen,” Devitt says. “We need to remember the Alliance was created almost 20 years ago as part of a restructuring that was going on back in those days, I think to properly put patient care on a much more positive trajectory into the future, we need to take our time and do it properly.
Devitt says he has sent a written reply to the Lambton Kent Middlesex MP, but will leave it up to Shipley whether to make the letter public.
Another update on the CKHA’s restructuring will be held in early January.
