DI Campaign Surpasses its Target

Over seven million dollars has been raised to purchase new diagnostic imaging equipment for the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance.

The final tally, $7,062,761, was unveiled last night, surpassing the goal of $6.9 million.

The Final Push 1000 km bike ride also exceeded expectations, bringing in $100,626.

Foundation Executive Director Mary Lou Crowley says the community was determine to make the campaign a success.

“I think the secret is people give to people, and they give to that cause,” Crowley says. “It’s about being able to talk about the need, and recognizing that CT scan and these pieces of equipment are touching each and every one of us right here in Chatham-Kent.”

The funds are being used to purchase 17 new pieces of equipment for the hospitals in Chatham and Wallaceburg, 15 of which are already in place.

The crown jewel of the campaign will be a state-of-the art CT Scan, used to help diagnose countless issues, including cancer, heart disease, and blood clots.
