Chatham-Kent Police say the 22-year-old woman bought some gas from UPI in Chatham on Monday.

She returned later asking the clerk to check her oil, while her 32-year-old male companion went inside the store.

They came back later wearing different clothes, and while the woman distracted the clerk, the man stole cash and cigarettes from the store.

They were later found at a nearby motel, where officers found ammunition.

Both are facing theft, drug, and live ammunition charges.
