Domestic Dispute Turns Violent in Chatham

Charges have been laid after an argument turned violent.

According to Chatham-Kent Police, officers were called to a home in Chatham shortly after 12:30 Thursday afternoon and found the victim outside with visible injuries, including swelling and bruising around her left eye. The woman told police she tried to leave, but her partner forcibly stopped her, leading to a physical altercation.

A 37-year-old man was arrested and charged with assault and forcible confinement.

He was taken to police headquarters and later released with conditions and a date in court next month.
