Fundraising efforts have begun for a spring race in support of students across Chatham-Kent.
Noelle’s Gift to Children is bringing its Light Up the Night for Noelle spring race to Mud Creek Trail in Chatham on April 25. The event will include a 5 km run/walk and a 1 km race for kids.
“This run is shaping up to be an incredible community event, with schools, families, and locals coming together for a great cause,” says Caress Lee, co-chair of the CK chapter of Noelle’s Gift. “It’s about more than raising funds—it’s about uniting to support students and ensuring every child has the brighter future they deserve. Whether you’re running, walking, or volunteering, this event celebrates the power of community.”
Organizers are hoping the race will raise $30,000, which will help to provide essential resources such as school supplies, nutritious food, clothing, and more for students in CK.
Noelle’s Gift to Children was launched in 2013, honouring the memory of Noelle Paquette, a passionate educator who always made sure her students had meals, school supplies, and proper clothing. Through initiatives such as the Student Nutrition Program, Noelle’s Gift Closet, and emergency support, the organization ensures students can focus on their education without worrying about their basic needs.
