Donor Drive Fast Approaching

A special blood donor clinic is being held this weekend in support of a Chatham woman.

Jocelyn McGlynn was recently diagnosed with leukemia, and family friend Christine Canniff says they’re looking to help with her fight.

“We’re trying to put a push on people to donate blood of course which is a big part of treatment when you have leukemia and stem cell donations. So we’re asking people to register to be a stem cell donor to see if they’re a match for Jocelyn other people in similar situations,” says Canniff. “This weekend we will have chrome books and info available if people are interested in stem cell donations. We they can come out and get some information and register right there. It takes about 10 minutes and they mail a swab kit to you postage paid and you return the swab kit.”

The clinic is being held at the Thames Campus Healthplex this Saturday from 9am until noon.

Another similar event is being held at the Spirit and Life Centre on Wellington on January 9th.
