Breaking down the door to your ex’s home is a good way to end up in police custody.
The Chatham-Kent Police Service said officers were called to a Chatham residence just after midnight on Tuesday after a man forced his way into the home.
Authorities said the man, who had been in a relationship with the resident, broke down the door and entered the home unlawfully.
Police located a suspect a short time later in a nearby parking lot where he was arrested.
The 37-year-old Chatham man is now charged with being in a dwelling unlawfully. He was taken to police headquarters and later released with a future court date.
