Ontario’s top doctor will be speaking to media this morning.
Reports say that while Dr. Kieran Moore wants to encourage Ontarians to resume masking to prevent the spread of respiratory viruses – seasonal and otherwise – he has no plans to reinstate a province-wide mandate.
Ontario’s Chief Medical Officer has said he expects to see a resurgence of illnesses this fall and winter and would recommend masking in certain indoor settings if hospitals have to cancel surgeries to deal with an influx of patients.
Dr. Moore has a news conference scheduled for 9 o’clock this morning.
