Drainage and Road Access Concerns Raised in Erieau

It was a packed house in Erieau last night as municipal officials went over plans for the reconstruction of Erieau Road this spring.

Manager of Infrastructure Services Chris Thibert says they may be looking at improving drainage on Erieau Road when work starts in May.

One thing that we will be looking at is there’s a drain called the Internal Line drain, a very large culvert or bridge structure crossing underneath Erieau Road, as part of this project,” Thibert explains.

“We will be looking at that to make sure it’s sized property and if it does need to be address, we’ll make sure to tackle that at the same time so we’re not having to come back and close this again.”

Construction will last about three weeks.

Thibert knows easy access to Erieau in the spring is a huge issue for residents and visitors, and along with intermittent road closures there will be a detour set up along Erie Shore Drive.
