A typical traffic stop in Wallaceburg has resulted in charges for a local man.
The Chatham-Kent Police Service said an officer on general patrol stopped a vehicle on Victoria Street at around 9 p.m. on Sunday.
The officer learned that a passenger was bound by several release conditions and prohibition orders, including not being outside his home without his surety.
The passenger was allegedly not with his surety and was arrested. Following a search, the man was also allegedly found in possession of ammunition and scales, despite being prohibited from having either.
As a result, a 32-year-old Dresden man has been charged with possession of ammunition contrary to a prohibition order, and four counts of failing to comply with a release order. He was taken to police headquarters and held for a bail hearing.
